The author of eight books, Steve writes primarily about faith, family, parenting, discipleship, and the challenges of raising children in a culture increasingly shaped by secular influences and digital technology. His approach emphasizes helping parents guide their children toward a faith they can understand, embrace, and live out.

The Advocate

Decades of Protecting the Next Generation

Steve's commitment to helping protect and guide young people goes back decades. In the early 1990s, he founded Students Against Violence (SAV), a movement dedicated to empowering young people to stand against violence, make positive choices, and take an active role in shaping their future. SAV became an early expression of the same passion that continues to drive his work today.

As a speaker, Steve brings these principles to churches, parent groups, and community programs. His faith-based talks address some of the most important challenges facing families today — including online safety, child exploitation, human trafficking, social media, and the growing influence of artificial intelligence.

Rather than focusing primarily on recovering children after they've already been exploited or victimized, Steve emphasizes prevention and education — helping parents become more informed, proactive, and engaged, including how to navigate AI's potential dangers and responsible use.

His presentation "The Screen Between Us" uses comedy and real-world observations to explore the growing digital divide between parents and children — and the importance of rebuilding communication and connection within the family.

The Musician

Where Faith Meets Music

Steve's passion for helping young people develop a strong Christian foundation led him to create Grace In Action, a devotional app that pairs daily Scripture and devotional lessons with original contemporary Christian songs — using music as a bridge between faith and everyday life.

His connection to music runs deep. With more than 30 years in the music industry as a guitarist, singer-songwriter, and producer, Steve has shared the stage with nationally recognized artists including Pat Benatar, Styx, Kenny Rogers, and Diamond Rio. He has also worked in artist development and stage production, and served as Executive Producer of the Great Southern Opry.
